2. What this site does not do
We do not use advertising networks, social media plug-ins, embedded videos from third-party platforms or fonts loaded from Google. Typefaces are served from our own server. We do not set tracking cookies and do not build a profile of you.
3. Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus, with whom we have a data processing agreement. The web server is located in the United States, and Hostinger's content delivery network delivers pages from servers close to you. Images are stored on our own server, also rented from Hostinger in the United States. When you visit a page, the server records the usual log data: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page, browser type and operating system, and the HTTP status. This is necessary to deliver the site and keep it secure (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). The transfer to the United States is safeguarded by the EU standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR). Log files are kept for a limited period and then deleted.
4. Visit and click counts without cookies
To learn which deals and articles are useful, a small script on our pages sends one request when a page is opened, and we count clicks on deal buttons. We store only the day, the page, the type of event (view or click), the button position and the store. We do not store IP addresses, do not set cookies, do not read or write anything on your device beyond what the request itself contains, and cannot recognise you on a later visit. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, our interest in improving the site.
The small hello from our mascot Bargie appears once per visit. To remember that it has already been shown, your browser keeps a single note in its session storage, which is deleted when you close the tab. It contains no personal data and is not sent to us. You can close the hello with the x, and the sound only plays if you click play.
5. Affiliate links
When you click a deal button, you go through a short redirect on our site (bargainbreakdown.com/go/...) to the store. The store and the affiliate network it works with can then see that you came from us, so that a purchase can be credited to us. They may set their own cookies for this; their privacy policies apply. We do not receive your name, address or payment details, only an anonymous report that a purchase was made and the commission. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, our interest in financing the site. See How we pick and score deals.
BargainBreakdown is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. When you follow a link to Amazon, Amazon and its partners may set cookies and collect information about your visit and purchase. Amazon's privacy notice applies: amazon.com privacy notice.
6. Google Search Console
We use Google Search Console to see how our pages appear in Google search. This works with data Google collects in its own search engine. No Google script runs on our pages for this.
7. E-mail and contact form
If you write to us by e-mail or through the contact form, we use your name, address and message only to answer you (Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR). The contact form does not store your message on the website. It is sent by e-mail from our server to our mailbox, both hosted by Hostinger. We delete your message when it is no longer needed, unless we have to keep it by law.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). To exercise them, write to hello@bargainbreakdown.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the Thuringian State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (TLfDI), Häßlerstraße 8, 99096 Erfurt.
9. Changes
We update this policy when the site changes. Last updated: October 8, 2026.
